Named after a place in a famous James Dean movie, this wonderful retreat is located on the crystal clear blue waters of the Blanco River. When you close the doors behind you, the serene, relaxing atmosphere welcomes you and all your worries disappear. The River can be seen from almost every window of this beautifully furnished home.
This treasure offers two wonderful living areas, each with its own wood burning fireplace and comfortable furniture to enjoy with your loved ones. The open kitchen floor plan and granite counter tops are a chef's delight. There are bar stools at the kitchen island that allow for visiting while the chef prepares your favorite dish.
The sounds from the river will lull you to sleep in the luxurious master bedroom and when you awaken you have the perfect view of the river and its surroundings. This master suite includes a private bath with a jetted soaking tub as well as his and hers sinks.
There are two extra bedrooms downstairs that offer a queen bed in one and two comfy twin beds in the other. Upstairs is an additional bedroom with a queen bed and private bath. Each room has its own tastefully done décor.
If you want to go outside and enjoy the natural view, but want to stay in the shade, you can do so from the lovely screened in porch. The open patio is right outside the living room if you prefer to stare up at the stars, count fireflies (we still have these in our part of the country) or just enjoy the summer night and experience the beauty and sounds only the hill country has to offer.
When the weather is a little cooler, you and the family can gather around the fire pit and roast marshmallows or sing your favorite songs and determine who will be the next "American Idol".
For the swimmers in the group, the Blanco River has cool clear running water; you can enjoy a swim or just sit on one of the limestone rocks and let the water run past you. If fishing is what you like to do, there are plenty of fish swimming by as well.
I know that land ain't worth much. But then someday, I just might up and put my own fence around her…and call her "Little Reata."
